AVG is free and virus definitions are updated often, and it doesn’t take over your computer like Norton or McAfee.

I was unable to use my computer for 2 weeks because the old virus protection was taken off before norton was installed on 1/15/08. Of course I had a trojan; on top of that when the big installation day comes I can’t install norton. Why??? Because I’ve been told I don’t have enough memory. Heck everyone can’t afford to purchase it and of course when we were told the virus protection was changing there was no word about the RAM at that time. I’m MAD MAD MAD!!!!

generally a paid anti-virus protection is better but some free anti-virus programs “avg” can work quite well, you must make sure it is well known and not a virus its self

I’m trying to download either avast or avg anti virus on my laptop but won’t let me, keeps saying I need to update windows but whenever I go to microsoft to update it won’t let me. keeps saying “The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view” and at the top right it says “error number – 0x800C0002″ anybody know what to do?

You may allread be infected some virus won’t let you update

I recommend a cold start shut the computer down and leave it off 30 sec. then restart and press F8 remember pick with arrows keys safe-mode with networking login to windows when it come up and go to download.com and download Malwarebytes it will install in safe mode and run do the updates for it and do a full scan then go to eset.com and do their free online virus scan.

once don go back to download.com and get AVG free and install it then run another virus can hide other virus or malware
