Best answer:

Answer by Vikrant K
re install ur audio video drivers.. and get rid of temporary files, prefetch files (in C:windows/prefetch), at regular times.
perform disk cleanup regularly (right click on drive, then properties > disk cleanup)…
go in internet options and delete cookies, and files regularly…
It will help you to increase its performance as well as speed, and reliability too…

for your drivers : re install them from updating them from device manager

Is it “safe” to run without firewall software when connected to a site via a VPN connection?

Question by gb: Is it “safe” to run without firewall software when connected to a site via a VPN connection?
I’ve found that after “upgrading” my Windows Vista laptop to Vista SP1, Cisco VPN client no longer works unless I disable ZoneAlarm firewall software. After doing this, Windows reverts to enabling Windows Vista firewall.

The articles I can find online about Windows Vista firewall services aren’t very complimentary. Claims are that it’s difficult to configure, and that it doesn’t protect a system against “call home” type malware.

My question is: if I’m in a VPN connection to a remote system, is there any need for firewall software? Do the remote system’s firewalls protect me from “call home” type malware apps, assuming a “best practices” corporate network? I’m assuming the encryption applied to my IP packets by the VPN protocol make packet sniffing difficult for hackers on the net.

I can enable the Windows Vista firewall while in the VPN connection, but is this sufficient for “good” security?

I was going to get AVG as an antivirus , then i saw there is antivirus as well as spyware programs, should I use both, or just one? Thanks in advance.

You should run spyware check periodically. Many are free and once a week or so is normal. If you click on ads and some questionable sites, then best to get them as a package. Make sure the spyware is not just for e-mail checking.
