signals, signs and indicators… how to know what is going on… and who is behind these goings on..?

Generally as this relates to sceurity and remote executions and malicious control of system completely; The context is also with regard to networking. (home”network”; -vs- actual network(small office, several pc’s, net printing maybe even a server, file shares)

I will try to ask in enough detail to be of use, but avoiding listing the many many many questionable and mystifying ID, codes, process users, groups and autoruling things that have me unglued at the moment. Please advise, ask, guide or help in whatever ways you can; kindly refraining from jovial and/or pointless or hurtful jibs and jabs as I ask with genuine hopes for helpful advice.
That said, mine is a matter of unknown and certainly strange signs, actions, changes and functioning that despite having tried or had installed and up to date, one of the following top recommended security suites: (note; I have not and do not now use more than one at a time, as I have learned the issues this causes) The different programs Ive turned to as things appeared to have not gotten better are: Trend Micro, Spy Sweeper, Norton, CA, Avast, AVG, Kaspersky… surely a few others at some point. Yet, in any given situation, the symptoms like unknown and unfamiliar users, groups, rules, configurations, installations, and actions seem to resurface, even after complete system repairs, restores, or even reformating and reinstallation of OS. Ive even had a new out of the box system that eventually exhibited these same signs of external control and config; replete with redirections,a nd I suspect, diverting from proper security and registry changes that , (pardon me if this is ridiculous to think, or imposible in reality) but I’d swear that even such things as security database updating or help menus or other attempts to identify and discover the root of all this, all of it, in some ways more vauge than others, yet some are glaring, and who’s descriptions and functions just plain hold as much power to abuse and give rise to bad things as they do have potential for good and legitimate actions. For instance, what is the reasons for remote system management and remote registry editing on a home personal pc?? I can see the use for this in reality, yet equally, functions like this type that are unattended to and sit in the background… if and actually when these kinds of programs and applications become breached in any way such that they can be refit in small ways…. as they must be…. then they offer an open door, or open window… and then all the locks put on the doors, or security setup, are pointless as this open window, leftso simply cuz I am not aware its there, much less open to all…. this weakness is what I am asking about… how can I whitlist what I need or use, particularly in a one machine”network” as I am forev er being lumped into…. howe can I work with rule and restrictions for file extentions and functions that are not identified as what they do, why they are there, who the “trusted installer” or the anayomous logon… or “S-1234=-5463-987554 ?? user on my machine is..?

How that is, without hours spent on each one…. slower than they seem to multiply or reoccur?

Can anyone understand this…. or know anything of what Ive tried to describe here??
ergo my mention of pointless remarks and plain ugly replies…. did you miss my mention also of apologies for not exactly sure how to best ask and explain my post? What is very clear is the reason you have yet to be cited as providing any answer deemed best… maybe we can lobby to have another badge added… the moronic loner award. You’ve got my whole hearted nomination jackass. I’d think you’d be a shoein!

Now… if notjing applicable can be offered from that peebrain of yours, do the site a solid and go back to whatever dark corner you come from and pis off.

thank you kindly dickhead

ant virus .vs. anti virus?

Is Kaspersky better than Norton 360?
Give me good reasons why and why not.
I need to but one one them.
And don’t tell me any names of the the free ones.
I dont care.

Free VS paid antivirus? What is your opinion? just a poll, hope i get many answers.?

We all have been using anti-virus softwares on our pcs whether free or paid.
And heres my experience……
I have used free anti-virus and spyware such as avast, avg, spybot search and destroy, spyware doctor,spysweeper,ad-aware and many more. Most of them slowed down my pc’s performance and i dont know why?.Also they were not effective enuff to protect the pc for simple fact i had to reformat my pc due to virus attacks on prior instances.
On the other hand i am currently using paid versions of kaspersky and Norton on my pc’s and honestly i feel they are working good for me.I dont know why but many people hate norton but from my personal experience i find it very easy, effective and trustworthy. Also its not making my pc slow.Likewise with kaspersky, infact it has made my pc work faster than ever.
What do you think, guys?

what is the best anti-virus?

Kaspersky vs. Nod32?

My free trial version of Norton Anti-virus is running out this month and I’m considering getting a new AV program. I am running on Windows Vista Home Premium.
I have come down to two choices – Kaspersky and Nod32.
Which of the two should i get? (I do not care about how long the scans take). My primary concern is performance.

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 vs Norton 360 2008?

which is better (IGNORE PRICE)

Switching from Norton to Kaspersky, but confused about Internet Securty vs. Anti Virus?

On my PC now, I have Norton Internet Security AND Norton Antivirus.

I am switching to Kaspersky.

I don’t really think I need Internet Security (just came with the computer). Won’t Kaspersky Anti-Virus protect me enough? I feel like I browse securely by using common sense…

Why would I need Internet Security, which is for some reason much more expensive? I do go to unknown sites sometimes, but if I got a virus, wouldn’t Anti-Virus take care of it?

Thanks

If I get Internet Security, does that cover viruses too? If I get that one, do I need to get Anti-Virus as well?

FACEOFF: Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 vs Norton 360 Version 3.0?

My Norton 360 Version 1 is up for renewal shortly. I need to know the bottomline… the final verdict.
Should I upgrade to Norton 360 Version 3.0 (heard a lot of good things about it) or switch to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009?

Note: I don’t need the 2 GB online storage. So excluding the online storage feature of Norton 360 v3.0, how do the two measure up?

Help?
I agree Norton was a bit of a clunker of sorts in the past. But I would like to know if Norton 360 v.3.0 (the latest, lighter version) is better than KIS 2009. I’ve narrowed my needs down to just these two suites. Its one or the other, whichever is better. And I’ve heard a LOT of good things about 360.
I guess you guys are talking about Norton in general. Especially past Norton products. I need feedback specifically on their latest, light-on-resources product viz. 360 version 3.0. The reviews for this version (3.0) are extremely favorable but I need to know if KIS 2009 is just as good because 360 is more expensive.

Kaspersky 2010 VS Bitdefender 2010 VS Norton Antivirus 2010. Who will win?
