If your computer is older, you should get ESET Smart Security, as it uses far less resources. The difference in detection is about 0.5% better for kaspersky. The firewall in kaspersky is more customizable, but can bug you.
Kaspersky is alot more dependant of you. ESET just gets on with everything by its self

Eset NOD32 has tested as the best AV.

If you want a cleaner and defragger then get CCleaner & Defraggler.

I just bought a new computer and was wondering what anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phising, firewall, do people recommend?

Also, is it better to get a Security Suite package such as Kaspersky Security Suite or get each application serparately. For instance either Eset Anti-Virus System or Kaspersky Security Suite

k. which one is better. my computer can handle Kaspersky and its really fast compared to nortan and bitdefender but the only problem is that i don’t know how to use it. will nod32 be better and easier to use or should i stick with kaspersky.

I’m planning to buy a antivirus for my laptop.These are it’s specs. :
512mb ram
40gb HDD
Windows Xp Professional( 32 bit )
32mb Vram

It should give better protection and does not slow down the pc in a way that i cant even use it.

You only wanted to compare the two so I would say it’s KAV 2010.

Eset Nod 32 has a lot of features missing compared to Kaspersky. Read the reviews here:

I personally enjoy Kaspersky Internet Security. It by far is not a resource hog and doesnt slow down your computer. Ive yet to experience ESET smart Securtity so my judgement on that program would be invalid however kaspersky has never steered me wrong.

k. Which one is better. i like eset. its more simple faster lighter and it seems more reliable. Kaspersky was fast and all but when i went on you tube it took two minutes to start the video. With eset it loaded almost instantly. i just want others opinions on what i should do.

NOD32 AV is lighter and faster than Kaspersky. Probably about the same in terms of detection, although NOD32 is ahead on some points. However, Kaspersky has a far stronger firewall, see
