Best anti-virus combination?

Question by Dave: Best anti-virus combination?
I run Vista IE and I have the free AVG anti-virus 7.5, free AVG anti-spyware, free AVG anti-rootkit.

I read that a lot of people recommend spybot S&D, AVAST, Kaspersky. I’ve also seen Firefox recommended.

I can afford to get Kaspersky if needed.
If that is the BETTER way to go, should I combine it with any other programs? Speed is somewhat of a concern, but not at the expense of protection.

I do download adult shared file from message boards. Just looking for the best proection I can get. Technology is not my strong suit.

Firefox vs. IE

Kaspersky?

Combination?

Thank you.
Anyone have any experience with Kaspersky or Norton IS? I hear Kaspersky is great at anti-virus but a little slow. Norton a little better for the technology challenged, like myself.

Kaspersky is the best, thats what i have, on the back of the case it compares its features to other anti-virus, including AVG, Norton, etc. It has the most features and protection. My friend recommended it to me, and he’s a computer nerd.

I’ve heard that Kaspersky uses a lot of computer resources – much like the nasties it’s supposed to remove.

AVG gets my vote :)

On a tangent… Firefox gets my vote over IE… by far.

I like Kaspersky much better than the other two, but none of them will detect everything, and they all have trade offs. Make sure to keep whichever you get updated. It will do very little good if the definitions are not kept up to date.
