Best anti-virus combination?

I run Vista IE and I have the free AVG anti-virus 7.5, free AVG anti-spyware, free AVG anti-rootkit.

I read that a lot of people recommend spybot S&D, AVAST, Kaspersky. I’ve also seen Firefox recommended.

I can afford to get Kaspersky if needed.
If that is the BETTER way to go, should I combine it with any other programs? Speed is somewhat of a concern, but not at the expense of protection.

I do download adult shared file from message boards. Just looking for the best proection I can get. Technology is not my strong suit.

Firefox vs. IE

Kaspersky?

Combination?

Thank you.
Anyone have any experience with Kaspersky or Norton IS? I hear Kaspersky is great at anti-virus but a little slow. Norton a little better for the technology challenged, like myself.

Avast 4.8 Home Edition VS Kaspersky Internet Security 2009?

Which one is better and why ?
Which one is using less resources ?

avast! 4.8 Vs. Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0?

I have trouble deciding between those two programs. They both are good, but have their things with me. When I had avast! installed last week, the scans found multiple things, which is good, but I noticed that for some reason my hard drive’s GBs would steadily decline a bit once in a while for no reason. I switched to Kas and the declination stopped. But when I run scans with Kas, they don’t really find much. Although I heard Kas is the best, you have to change alot of stuff to fully protect you. I’m not sure what those are.

Also, what’s the best anti-spyware out there? My Spy Sweeper just expired today, and Ad-Aware doesn’t find much of anything. I still have Counterspy V2 but I’m not sure if it’s good or not. Please help. Thanks in advance!
