i was wondering if there was much difference between mcafee (provided by cox internet) or avg 8.0 free plz anser

    Mcaffe is better but i recommend Norton by Symantec. Much better.

    Forget Mcaffee and avg and all the rest. Why pay for something that relies on these companies which also sometimes, produce viruses.

    Get AVAST. It is FREE and also ,you can register for free for 14 months and is ONE of the best. Why?

    Because it can do a BOOT SCAN before logging onto windows which is the CORRECT why of identifying trojans that tend to re-copy themself. By finding them before logging on to windows, it will destroy them and when it asks you what to do, select DELETE ALL after it finds trojans etc..etc..

    Here is the link and before I forget, this scanner will NOT slow down your computer and will also check all incoming emails, dangerous websites etc..etc…

    Note that when you install it, it will ask for a BOOT SCAN. Select YES and it will reboot your compu and do a boot scan. It takes 30 minutes but only does this once.
